Incorporated in August 2001, Best Foods commenced operations in November of the same year with the initial intention of providing hygienically packed meat products to households only. Before long, the quality of the Company’s products became widely sought after by the market players. This led to an astronomical growth in demand, particularly with big buyers from the retail and hospitality industry. This led to the rapid development of production and processing facilities primarily from funds provided by the shareholders.

With an ever-expanding scope in the agricultural industry, Best Foods has established interests in agricultural servicing and consulting, and the consumable goods trade. The Company ventured into crop farming in 2010 with the vehicle “Best Foods Fresh Farms.”

The company has about 350 Hectare farm situated at Igbodu in Epe, Lagos State where it cultivates fruits and vegetables such as, tomatoes, cucumber, chili pepper, green pepper, lettuce, spring onions, watermelon, plantain and several other crops.

Best Foods Fresh Farms is also in the process of diversifying into the growing of hibiscus flower leaves popularly known as ‘zobo’ leaves for pharmaceutical industries and export to Germany and Ghana based on trade agreements.

Currently, the farm owns and operates tractors and bulldozers which is leased out to other farms and plantations in the region to generate additional income.

The main purpose of establishing the farm was to establish a profitable state-of-the-art functional structure in the centre of the West African commercial capital by providing simple innovative and effective farming methods to produce and supply high quality, fresh produce not just to our outlets, but to the broader market.
Best Foods Fresh Farms is in partnership with Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperative through Franchise of Eko Farmers Market, which is aimed at bridging the gap between the Farmers and Consumers. We also have strategic alliances with other farms across the country and beyond, where we get some produce such as carrots, potatoes etc.
